About the "Mamas"
We wanted to share a little more information about who we are and what inspired us to start this blog.SP: I went to school at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. I received a B.S. in Engineering Physics with minors in Computer Science and Mathematics. I've worked for The Boeing Company for over 15 years on a variety of proprietary space programs. I'm a life member of Society of Women Engineers and I've spent many hours volunteering for Outreach activities that introduce kids to science and engineering. My daughter E was my inspiration for starting this blog. I was reading her the book, Rosie Revere, Engineer one night before bed. At the end of the story, we read the piece that talked about Rosie the Riveter. She started asking me questions about Rosie and I got all choked up. She was interested in engineering. Well as interested as a 4 year old can be. She may not grow up to be an engineer, but I want to give her the best chance possible. I want to show her that science, math and engineering are fun. As I conduct activities with her, I'll pass those resources on to our readers, so that you can share them with your children.
NY: Ok...so technically, I'm not a Mama yet, but I love kids and I love encouraging an interest in engineering. I have a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Penn State and a Masters in Systems Engineering from USC. I've worked for The Boeing Company for TBD years in the Research and Technology organization.
JR: I received my B.S in Aerospace Engineering from Iowa State University. I've worked for The Boeing Company for TBD years on a variety of proprietary space programs.
HM: I received my B.S in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue and a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Cal State Long Beach. I've worked for The Boeing Company for TBD years on a variety of satellite programs.
